One More Portrait

Here's another one I did a couple of days ago.  I've been trying to make more of these lately but sometimes the left hand doesn't cooperate very well.  Keep practicing, thats' what Mr. Wakabayashi said. :)

  1. Dude like the veil a lot did u put something over the drawing and rub charcoal on it?

  2. No, it happened by accident at first like the first old man drawing. I engraved it by putting a piece of paper on top and drawing the veil by pressing down hard. When you shade charcoal on top of the portrait, it passes over the engraved marks.

  3. I really like what you've been doing here dude. These are great drawings. I think you might benefit from nailing all the shapes of your value changes before shading, then you can really focus on getting those shapes and values in one stroke. You should check out some Sargent drawings for inspiration!
